Is this not what we all aspire to? Even if we like to keep it short, the fact that we have the option to easily grow lengthy locks is still a privilege. We've all heard the humble brag of, "Yeah, I like to keep it short, but it just grows soooooo fast. It's like soooooo annoying. I have to get it trimmed almost every week. It totally sucks..." For those of you whom which this is true; we hate you. For everyone else, keep reading, because with persistence and consistency, we'll get to our perfect length.

How you ask? Well we could:

1. Join a hair growth challenge

Search on Instagram, Pintrest, or Google. There are plenty of 30 to 90 day challenges that you can try.

Currently a Nashville hair blogger (@aleshanokeys) is conducting a hair bootcamp under the hashtag fallintohealthyhairbootcamp. She even provides tips and reminders throughout the camp to help keep you on track. Plus, she actually engages her followers. It’s best to do it as a group because when you are surrounded by a community, it can help motivate you. Send those positive vibes straight to your roots.

2. Do a protective style

How can your hair grow if it always has to worry about you touching it? In all seriousness, just leave your hair alone, within reason. Protect your hair from the elements, but still look runway ready.

Plus, who wants to get up and do their hair everyday anyways?

3. Hair growth vitamins

Check with your doctor first, of course

4. Cut your hair

Yes, I know we want to keep the length, but if it’s preventing you from having healthy hair because of split ends, it has to go. Don’t worry, it will grow back stronger and healthier than ever.

5. Create a hair care regiment

Become an active participant in your hair growth goals. If you want something to happen, you have to promote it. GET IN FORMATION!

6. Try something new

Remember the different between sanity and insane? If you’re doing the same thing and nothing is working, then try something different. It might be helpful to go to a hairstylist that specializes in the Deva Curl. I’ve had conversations with naturalistas who have participated and it has resulted in healthy growth. I thought about trying this myself. I was gung-ho and ready to go but my wallet… that trick said, “no.” Yeah, she’s rude.

7. Reevaluate your diet

My mother's doctor has one response whenever my mom has an issue. She always starts with, “Drink more water.” Believe it or not, sometimes it can be that simple. Check your diet. Are you putting junk inside your body? Are you not drinking enough water? I’m not, which is why my hair seems to be stuck, but we can work through this TOGETHER!!!

Raise your glass of water and let’s start today!
